Description
Step into the unsettling world of Dr. T.F. Madill, Physician & Surgeon with this extraordinary handcrafted Victorian apothecary vignette box — a one-of-a-kind mixed media curiosity cabinet that blurs the line between medicine and madness.
Housed in an elegantly shaped arch-top wood box with measurement ruler sides and periodic table accents, the interior tells the story of a Victorian physician whose methods were anything but ordinary. A haunting anatomical figure with exposed torso illustration dominates the backdrop, layered against vintage pharmacist and druggist advertisements from Salem, Mass., a handwritten prescription, and a bold red TOXIQUE warning stamp that leaves little to the imagination.
Elements: Paper, balsam wood, alcohol ink, chipboard, glass, plastic, metal, sealer
