Kitsch Flamingo is the New Distress Ink Color

I am tickled Kitsch Flamingo (Pink) about the new Ranger Ink and Tim Holtz Distress Ink collaboration! As a Florida resident, I have seen plenty of flamingos in our theme parks – this is not that kind flamingo! We are talking about the wacky, daiquiris at sunset, 5:00 somewhere kind of pink! This color takes its cue from the eccentric (dare I say “tacky”?) plastic birds with spikey wire legs seen in front yards from Panama City to Key West.

There are also some incredible project shares from some very talented makers. Be sure to stick around until the end of the release video. Mario always has a surprise or two up his fashionable sleeves.

“Colorfully Quirky Pink”

Think trailer parks, Tommy Bahama shirts, cat eye sunglasses, and flashing neon bar signs. According to the new Ranger Ink Press Release, “Kitsch Flamingo, [is] a colorfully quirky pink, inspired by the classic yard object often considered to be in poor taste, but appreciated in an ironic way. These new Distress colors will be available in 8 different Distress products – Ink Pad, Ink Re-inker, Oxide® Pad, Oxide® Re-inker, Embossing Glaze, Spray Stain, Oxide® Spray, Flip Top Paint all open stock, plus a NEW Enamel Collector Pin!” Now that is a whole lotta pink!

Last year, Ranger released Speckled Egg Distress Ink. I think this will be a great companion color for spring makes. However, don’t be surprised to Kitsch Flamingo pop up for the holiday makes at Christmas time, too.

Come on, makers, let’s get Kitschy with it!
