New Distress Ink: Salvaged Patina

In collaboration with Tim Holtz, Ranger Ink released the newest Distress Ink color – Salvaged Patina. According to Ranger’s April 24, 2021, press release, Salvaged Patina is “an intriguing blue-green, with a timeworn and reclaimed aesthetic.” As with all Distress inks, you have to see it to understand the full range of what this layered color can do!

After experimenting myself with this unique color, I find that I most appreciate it with neutrals like Vintage Photo and Weathered Wood. Many of the makers found that grunge steampunk vibe works great with Salvaged Patina. There is a lot of potential in this color and I am happy to see it added this go around!

So Many Ways to Try it Out!

This new Distress color will be available in 8 different Distress products – Ink Pad, Ink Re-inker, Oxide® Pad, Oxide® Re-inker, Embossing Glaze, Spray Stain, Oxide® Spray, Flip Top Paint plus a new enamel collector pin. I am really anxious to work with the paint with my new gel press plates and Tim Holtz’s heavy stock paper pad.

Keep in touch on Instagram and Pinterest for more posts from the Tim Holtz makers and to see what I am using it for next. I would love to hear what you think and/or how you are using it in your makes.

This color reminds me of old cemeteries and abandoned garden statuaries. We may see this creep into a lot of Halloween makes this year. Are you happy with another element in the Distress blue spectrum? What do you think Tim Holtz will release for his next color? Happy Salvaged Patina Day!
