Prize Ribbon is a Winning Distress Ink Release

Prize Ribbon is the newest member on the blue spectrum from the Distress Ink collaborative of Tim Holtz and Ranger Ink. On July 17, 2021, the crafting world was introduced to “an award winning blue, celebrating the summertime nostalgia of the county fair” according to Ranger Ink’s Prize Ribbon press release. Tim Holtz’s direct take is the way to truly understand the versatility of this new color. And the AMAZING makes from his design partners – what inspiration! I didn’t see another blue ink coming our way, but the depth of this color cannot be denied. I appreciate how Tim Holtz explains where his vision is going for the Distress Ink line. This, and all future releases, will work to bridge color gaps across the spectrum. For such a rich blue, Prize Ribbon is truly a chameleon! It works fantastic with browns, yellows, greens and even bold reds like Festive Berries and Barn Door. What a perfect summer time release while we all have fairs, festivals, and award winning pies on our minds (or is that just me?).

This new Distress color will be available in 8 different Distress products – Ink Pad, Ink Re-inker, Oxide® Pad, Oxide® Re-inker, Embossing Glaze, Spray Stain, Oxide® Spray, Flip Top Paint plus a new enamel collector pin. I am especially excited to have a deeper tone of Distress Glaze for upcoming makes.

Welcome to the party, Prize Ribbon! Looking ahead, I already have visions of wintery snow flakes and icy texture paste backgrounds forming in my mind.
